This site was born from the ashes of the misinformation meltdown that history will record as Election 2024. -- A crisis of misinformation, whether or not it was aided by factors as nefarious as: tampering by the richest man in the world. a Supreme Court that allowed the uniting of corporate money to corrupt elections & politicians of both parties under the name "Citizen's United." the amplification of lies over a network called Truth Social and a news network that calls itself "fair & balanced" despite having to pay 787 million for lying. The result of those and other deceptions was that too many people voting against their best interests. Not because they're mean or stupid. You know them. They're like you. You work and live next to them. They're family. Their emotions were manipulated. For me, the journey to newBluePlanet started 24 years earlier. Soon after the Election 2020 debacle I launched the world's first political dating site -- LiberalHearts.com. I retired it and myself a few months before this 2024 election. But I realized there was an even more urgent need for a space where progressive thinkers and liberal hearts could connect, be heard, and have their voices amplified over the noise and static. Ideally, the Internet's "world-wide web" should have opened minds instead of providing closed bubbles where fears could fester and be exploited. Hopefully, you're here to help pop some bubbles. But not only do I need your help. I need you to lead. My time will be divided on other projects that share the same goals but will use the mediums of music and film as tools. This is not my first political forum. I ran one for a decade and I applied what I learned here. I envision nBP as a kind of think-tank for putting together ideas to be shared on other social networks -- rather than as an outlet that replaces other social networks for you. But, ultimately, what it becomes and where it goes is up to you. My goal is for it be run as a co-op non-profit. And for it to outlive me in the hands of others. I go by V3 here (me, version 3 -- relating to the transition from father, to son, to holy spirit). It will be my pleasure to meet you and hopefully work with you.
