Why we need a progressive space:

• Mainstream media wastes our time with commercials and talking heads we can’t talk back to. And they’re shamelessly allowed to duck questions and lie without being fact-checked.  When one side is represented by racists, insurgents & criminals, “equal time” is NOT in the public’s best interest. It’s out of balance with sanity and decency.

•  Late night TV offers comic relief. But we’ve settled for laughs instead of action for too long while right-wing ideology/mythology takes hold of the rest of the public via cable, radio, and internet bubbles.

•  On FB and X, etc., you have to be careful what you say to a mixed audience. And your opinion just scrolls away to make room for their ads and rage bait. AND your participation feeds billionaires like Elon Musk, who profit off of dangerous propaganda, even when it stems from hostile nations.

•  Your information is tracked and your data is mined by your social networks, smart phones , smart TV’s, and other devices. It’s sold by corporations to other corporations based on the highest bidder.

Social media replaced discussion forums over the years. But freely communicating outside the influence of corporate control is even more urgent now. It used to be that the rich & powerful were undermining democracy behind the scenes. Now they’re doing it in plain sight.

  LiberalHearts Singles Club – View profiles, pictures and Private Message members.
  Activity Club – find like-minded people or couples to socialize with: Examples: game night, cards, pickle-ball, movie or book clubs, etc..

The motivation for this site was the misinformation crisis that started with election 2024 -- including:

• lies amplified on a site called "Truth Social" and a news network that paid $787 million for lying about the prior election.

• a Supreme Court ruling called "Citizens United" that allows corporations to fund misleading election advertising.

• the world's richest man spreading falsehoods over his 600 million user network and funding $277 million in misleading ads.

• mainstream media adopting a hands-off approach to fact-checking candidates and their propaganda.

Whether deceptions altered the election outcome or not, one thing is certain -- too many Americans voted against their own best interests. Not because they're mean or unintelligent. Because their emotions were manipulated.

For me, the journey to newBluePlanet started with my launch of LiberalHearts (the world's first political dating site) soon after the Election 2000 debacle. I retired it--and myself--in 2024--until I realized that, more than ever, progressive thinkers and liberal hearts need a space to connect and be heard.

Ideally, the Internet's "world-wide web" should have opened minds instead of providing closed bubbles where fears could fester and be exploited. I'd like to think that together we can pop some bubbles. But not only do I need your help. I need you to lead. My time will be divided on other projects that share the same goal but will use the mediums of music and film as tools.

I envision NBP as a kind of think-tank for putting together ideas to share on other social networks--rather than replace your participation there. Your voice is needed everywhere. Ultimately, what this site becomes is up to you. I'd like to develop it as a co-op non-profit organization and hand it off to the community so that it might out-live me.

I go by V3 here (me, version 3, transitioning from father, to son, to spirit--my true self). Create your own identity and let's imagine a world the new you would want to live in. It will be my pleasure to meet you and work with you to broadcast our intention to make that kind of world a reality.
